is it ?
The
Russian tradishional holidays is very
interesting and cheerful. Shrovetide
or “Maslenitsa”
is
one of such holidays. Fun
and joy always reign during Maslenitsa.
It is not just
a
holiday,
it’s
change of holidays ,
which commemorates good beginning of a
year, because in ancient times
most nationality celebrated
New Year in
the beginning
of
spring. /Probadly/ Probably people have
been celebrating it since paganism .
What
do people do?
At
this time people made
pancakes, go
to folk
festivals
national walking, and take
part in
interesting competitions.
Except this people made
and burn
a
scarecrow of Muslinica. For
them
this is the
last week
/weak/, when they can sinlessly eat food such as fish, meet, milk, eggs,
white bread, fruit and
even tea.
Honestly
Shrovetide is my favourite
holiday not including New Year In /next
my/ my next letter I will
write about other
Russian traditional holidays.
